Commission Number One: Vicky's chair
So, for my first commission of 2012, I am re-upholstering a Parker Knoll armchair. I really enjoyed the last one I did, as the classic shape makes it very versatile when it comes to deciding on the style and pattern of fabric to use. The chair is a very precious item belonging to Vicky and has been in the family for a long time, so I'm particularly keen to make it something special that will continue to be passed through generations. Meeting for a brew in her beautifully accessorised living room, adorned with trinkets and a colour co-ordinated bookcase meant that I got a really good idea of Vicky's style preferences. We're currently on the hunt for the perfect vintage fabric to suit her bold and eclectic taste.
Oh Melrose Upholstery is back!
After an extended upholstery sabbatical to pursue other work projects, I'm back in the workshop armed with an upholstery manual, my beloved Robert's radio and lots of tea...
Very excited to get started on some new commissions!
